Порядок слов в вопросительном предложении

  • Здравствуйте!

    Задание из книги Миловидов В.А. "Английский язык полный справочник для подготовки к ЕГЭ" (стр. 158, тест 45):

    In what ways ____________?

    Варианты ответов:

    1. we different
    2. are we different
    3. we are different
    4. do we different

    В ответе указано, что правильный вариант - 3.

    Почему здесь прямой порядок слов? Разве не правильней сказать: In what ways are we different?

  • Blinky might disagree with me, but I think it depends what do you want to underline or emphasise:

    if the word "ways" and you more interested in knowing more about the ways, then it's okay to say In what ways we are different?

    If you want to underline "we" you say : "In what ways are we different?"

    You bet I will:-) Word order is inverted in questions. "In what ways we are different?" is incorrect.
