Косвенная речь

  • Подскажите пожалуйста, правильно ли я передала прямую речь в косвенной:

Arthur: Have they started on the garden?
Jane: Oh, yes. They started on that weeks ago, I suppose.
Arthur asked if they had started on the garden.
Jane confirmed that they had started on that weeks before.

Jane: Sarah (that’s the wife’s name) looked after the two boys the whole day.
    Arthur: How nice of her.
Jane answered that Sarah (that was the wife’s name) had looked after the two boys the whole day.
Arthur mentioned that it was nice of her.

Jane: And Tom helped Peter to lay the carpets.
    Arthur: Hm, hm.
Jane said that Tom had helped Peter to lay the carpets.
    Arthur agreed.

  • Jane: And Tom helped Peter to lay the carpets.
    Arthur: Hm, hm.
Jane said that Tom had helped Peter to lay the carpets.
Arthur agreed.---Тут, пожалуй, не так. Arthur did not agree to that. Arthur could not believe his ears. Arthur was not sure that Tom really had.

  • Hm - (заинтересованность, смятение, испуг, скептицизм).
hmm- Выражение замешательства, сомнения или несогласия
Мне кажется, по контексту больше подходит согласие,хотя я не уверена.
Arthur: Have they started on the garden?
Jane: Oh, yes. They started on that weeks ago, I suppose.
They have done the front garden. They have not touched the back at all.
Arthur: Well, at least they had made a start.
Jane: They have been very lucky with their neighbours.
Arthur: In what way have they been lucky?
Jane: Well, they were very kind on the day Anne moved.
    Arthur: What did they do?
Jane: Sarah (that’s the wife’s name) looked after the two boys the whole day.
    Arthur: How nice of her.
Jane: And Tom helped Peter to lay the carpets.
    Arthur: Hm, hm.
Jane: He has even offered to help Peter with the garden.
